In 2021, just as the world was emerging from the shadows of the COVID-19 pandemic, I embarked on an exhilarating journey—one that involved a car I had dreamt about for years: the 2007 Porsche 997 Turbo. It wasn’t in the best condition when I found it, but the allure of owning this engineering marvel overshadowed all the practical concerns. This wasn’t just about buying a car; it was about fulfilling a dream.

The Beginning: Love at First Sight

The first time I saw the car, I knew it was meant to be mine. Yes, it was worn out and required a lot of work, but the essence of the 997 Turbo—its iconic silhouette, the raw potential of its twin-turbocharged engine, and its reputation as one of the greatest Porsches ever built—captivated me. I didn’t see the worn leather seats or the tired engine; I just saw myself in the driver seat what it could become.

The Work Begins: Engine Rebuild and Upgrades

Since i was disabled and a full time wheelchair user the first thing to to with the can was to install a handscontrolls. my father volenteered to take the can to the shop in bahrain where i insalled all my perviose cars handcontroles.

Once the car was in my garage the first thing must be installing a handcontrole, reality set in. The 997 needed an engine rebuild, which was both daunting and exciting. Finding the right parts and specialists for the job became an adventure in itself. After countless hours of research and several weeks in the shop, the engine was restored to its former glory, purring with the distinctive growl that only a Porsche flat-six can produce.

But I didn’t stop there. Over time, I added upgraded taillights, giving the rear end a modern touch that complemented its timeless design. I also replaced the diverter valve, enhancing the car’s performance and reliability under boost. Each upgrade not only improved the car but also deepened my connection with it.
<h3...Read More

How to Overcome a Disability

Definitions

First let’s define what do we mean by overcoming a disability and we will start by defining each word

Overcoming can simply defined as succeeding on something of defeating an obstacle in our case the obstacle being a disability.

Disability is a physical or a mental condition that limits the person’s movement, senses or an activity. For example, in my case it’s a I have a physical disability, a spinal cord injury which stops nerve signals coming from my brain reaching my legs which in terms makes me lose control for my leg. One important to note that disability can be permanent like a spinal cord injury or an amputee and temporary such as broken leg. In this course we will be focusing more on permanent disability however the steps that will be highlighting work al with a temporary one.

The Mind set

Overcoming disability does not necessarily mean getting rid of it but more of living with that disability. This mind set is very important as it encourage the person to continue moving with their valuable life instead of waiting for a quire that does not exists yet. Also, it is a mistake to consider this mind set as “giving up” I’m a firm believer that the technology will one day find a “quire” to my disability but I’m not going to waste my life waiting for it. Instead, I decided to “overcome” my disability and move on with my life and once the quire is found that is when I’ll switch my mind set from living with to getting rid of.

So, what do we need to overcome a permanent disability?

to be continued..............

In Dimensions Lab we needed an addtional 3D printer and we were looking for something that is open, easy to maintain, reasonably priced and supports both 110 and 220 volt.

After searching the internet for a while we settled for the Creality 3D Ender-3. We have been using it for a while now and we can comfertably say that we choose a great printer.

Arrival

Our first impression when it arrived, that it was very lightweight, which got us worried about the quality ..... boy we were wrong!

Assembly

After opening it we had to assembel it and surprizingly it was very easy.. legthy but easy and straight forward. And the best part in the assembly that it include spare parts which always wins me over.

Now its not all great. The instructions manual was not clear and it was missing USB/TF card “which it claims to come with it”.

Printing

After assembling it you must level the bed which was a manual process making it naturly tricky and we didn't get it right from the the first time and the first prints were not perfect but eventualy we got it right.

Heating and cooling the bed was fast. Loading the filament was frustrating though. BUT it was worth it as the prints were detailed.

Overall it is a good printer. We love how it’s open and still Small and compact.

purchase link：https://ban.ggood.vip/10S0w

coupon code: <a...Read More

The business problem that is Big Data

The business problem that is Big Data

Big Data is a very catchy term that sounds straight forward but is tricky in reality. We all know what the word “big” means and we know what the word “data” means; put them together, and boom, both words instantly became more interesting and makes one an instant geek.

A traditional method of handling the data is to store it and process it in a single computer and every time the computer capability is not enough, we upgrade it with a better one — as a vertical upgrade. However, in some cases, these traditional methods are no longer feasible for the business needs and that’s where big data comes in.

The value of data

Generally, big data is classified using the concept of the five Vs: volume, velocity, variety, veracity, and value. Let’s consider the data in the health industry as an example. Hospitals across the world collect 2,314 exabyte (1 exabyte equals 1 billion gigabytes) annually in the form of patients’ records, test results, etc. All of this data is generated at a very high-speed rate, which attributes to the velocity of big data. The collected data is of different variety: patient visits, log files, blood test results, X-ray images, and CT scans. We need to keep the veracity of data in mind, knowing that some data may have come from faulty or non-calibrated sensors. But last, all of this data, when analyzed properly, can have value: it can enable faster disease detection, better and faster treatment with a lower cost, for instance.

Opportunities

The business applicability of big data is...Read More

Tom Sawyer is by far my favorit fictional character and this book is the first place were he appeared in.

the book is about a boy (Tom Sawyer) growing up along the Mississippi River. It is set in the 1840s in the town of St. Petersburg, which is based on Hannibal, Missouri, where the author Mark Twain lived as a boy.

In my openion the sequal (The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn) is a better one but you must read this one first in order to get the best out of it.

so-so automation and the future of work

So-So Automation and the Future of work

The first ever task that was assigned tome as a co-op student at Aramco wasto develop program that will automate the generation of a management report that the department called “management dashboard.” That program was much more productive than humane. It reduced multiple days of work to seconds. Therefore, when I heard the term “so-so automation” in an episode of a podcast, I was immediately intrigued. So, what is so-so automation? And, why do I think it is the future of work?

Let us define automation first. Wikipedia defines it as a technology by which a process or procedure is performedwith minimal human assistance, the key phrase here is “minimal human assistance,” or in simple terms, replacing humans with a machine (job loss). However, studies show that if automation is done correctly, it increases the productivity of the tasks it is doing, which in turn creates a job somewhere else. A perfect example of this is the automation in manufacturing cars where huge robots replaced human workers. This significantly increased the number of cars produced, which increases the demand in the sales and marketing departments. This is called a productivity effect.

However, so-so automation, according to MIT Professor Daron Acemoglu and Boston University’s Pascual Restrepo, is an automation that does not have the productivity effect. This means job loss in one area without the increase to demand in other areas. One example they used was the automated customer service over the phone.

The new risk of a lockdown that the COVID-19 crisis has introduced...Read More

<p style="text-align:...Read More
